Applique Class

If you’ve ever looked at an appliqué quilt and thought “I couldn’t do that!” I’m here to tell you “You can!” and I’ll show you how! I LOVE appliqué and have tried just about every method out there. In this class I’ll show you how easy and enjoyable appliqué can be with several of my favorite methods. First we’ll prepare the pieces on a sewing machine so the edges are all neat and finished and ready to be hand stitched to the background. This is the most stress free way to prepare to appliqué! We’ll also experiment with needle turn appliqué, a more traditional method. And I’ll also show you how to prepare pieces with straight edges (like houses) in seconds!

We’ll discuss the differences as well as the pros and cons of each method. We’ll work on an appliqué panel in class and I promise by the time you leave class you’ll no longer be intimidated by appliqué!

*We will be using a sewing machine to prepare some pieces but we will be applying the pieces to the background by hand-stitching. I will not cover machine appliqué in this class.
