Beginner Crochet with Andrea - Session 1

This crochet class is for the absolute beginner, or for those who learned to crochet years ago but can’t remember a thing about it!  Everyone has to start somewhere so why not start with Humble Stitch! 
You will learn all the basics by crocheting four easy cotton dishcloths. You'll learn to chain, single, half double, double, and bobble stitch as well as increases, decreases, and how to read a pattern. After this class you'll be ready to tackle bigger projects.

Cost of class is $25. (materials not included)

Materials are separate from the cost of the class. You are welcome to bring hooks and notions from home if you already have them. If you  need to purchase class supplies, we kindly ask that you consider Humble Stitch as a source. It is our experience that people learn faster and have a more enjoyable time when they use quality tools and materials. However, this is not required. 

Note: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to class if you will need to purchase supplies. 
This is a 2 part class. Session 2 will be the following Saturday, April 20th from 1-3 PM

Required materials (Approximate costs listed for those who do not already have these items at home.)
Hooks: H Hook ($9.99) 
Yarn:One skein of 100% cotton ($9 to $15 per skein) 
Notions: Darning needles ($5.99) 
Scissors (Small Snips)

Note: If inclement weather impacts the ability to hold class on the scheduled date, class will be rescheduled for a future date.

Skill Details: Must be able to do repetitive motion with fingers and wrists. 18+ years of age

Instructor: Andrea Rygel
Instructor Bio: Hailing from a long line of textile hand workers, Andrea?s great grandmother was a weaver and her grandmother, Baba?, taught Andrea how to crochet when she was a young child. Her love for fiber art grew from there and she went on to take up knitting, spinning, and weaving! Andrea lives in Juniata County with her husband, sons, cats, dog, chickens and bees.
